Longview Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau joined four other cities to promote tourism in the northeast part of Texas at the Katy Home and Garden Show in Katy Texas. The show was held January 28 & 29. The effort was organized by the North East Texas Tourism Council as a co-op project among its member cities. Along with Longview were Kilgore Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau; Gladewater Chamber of Commerce; City of Henderson Tourism Division; and City of Canton Tourism Division. Staff and volunteers from each city participate during the show greeting those who attend the show and answering questions about northeast Texas.
Margie Harris, Tourism Services Manager for the Longview Chamber of Commerce CVB, represented Longview at the show. "At these consumer and travel shows we visit with those that come to the show and provide a packet of information with brochures from participating cities as well as the NETTC Visitor’s Map and the 2012 Regional Visitor and Events Guide we just released," said Harris.
NETTC represents the 30 counties in northeast Texas. NETTC was founded in 1989 with the mission to promote tourism within the Texas Lake Country of North and East Texas and to help smaller cities accomplish more through cooperative programs.
